Bajpe, Jan 12: Bajpe police have successfully arrested five persons on January 11, Saturday, in connection with the theft in a house at Ambikanagar in Paduperar village near the Pachanady Dumping Yard. The Police have also seized gold jewellery worth Rs 3.25 lakhs form them.
The arrested are identified as Muniamma (32), Lakshmi (25), Sarasu alias Saraswathi(27), Gulabi (22) and Manja (30) belonging to a same family of Andhra origin. Muniamma prime accused in the case also faces cases in Mulki and Kundapur.
Reportedly, these women used to gather information on isolated houses during the day time with the reason of rag picking.
These had burgled the house of Padmanabha Poojari of Paduperar on January 2 when no one were present in the house.
The arrests were made under the leadership of Panambur ACP Ravikumar.
