Udupi; Dec 23: Addressing the media reporters after visiting K.K.Saabu, who is under judicial custody and is receiving treatment in Udupi private hospital for his ill-health on Dec 23, Monday, Kemaru Mataadheesha Shree Esha Vitaladasa Swamiji, honorable president of the trust said in his address that in the jurisdiction of Kollur police station, in Maadur village by destroying acres of forest in the region, government lands are being illegally acquired. The man, by name K.K.Sabu, president of Kodachary environment conservation trust, who was fighting against this, has been arrested on false allegation, thereby committed a wickedness.
He further said that efforts are being taking place to submit an application for the release of K.K.Sabu, who is under judicial custody on bail. Once he comes out of the judicial custody, struggle will be strengthened further and an exclusive committee will be formed for the purpose, he said.
Continuing his speech, he said that land in Muddur has been illegally encroached. Besides forests have been destroyed in acres of land. The immediate action should be taken by the district commissioner and environment conservation authorities against those who have cut the trees illegally without any permission or approval. Failing which a massive state -wide protest will be staged including religious leaders, he warned.
I have not committed any mistake:
K.K.Sabu, who is undergoing treatment in Udupi private hospital, said in his choked voice in front of media personnel that he has not committed any mistake. He was falsely implicated and arrested.6.-7 police personnel physically lifted him and took away, he said.
Details of the incident:
It was said that on Dec 09,Vasudeva, N.J.Joseph, Manju, Ramachandra, Somayaji, Chandra, Vijaya Bhovi, Ravindra Bhovi,Vigneshwara Bhat forcefully entered Mookambika agricultural estate, owned by Abhi Abraham in Madur village with deadly weapons and given a fire in the shed and destroyed gardens, banana plants, abused with filthy language and gave life threatening. It was told that Vasudeva and Joseph have demanded heavy money for this job. According to one estate labor Mathew, the reason behind this problem was that money was not paid as per the demands of the duo. On the basis of Mathew’s complaint in Kollur police station under Indian penal code 143,147,148,447,435,427,504,506,149,109 cases were registered. Under these cases Kollur police have arrested trust president K.K.Sabu, a few days ago. Court has slapped him judicial custody.
