Bantwal, Dec 13: Bantwal police have arrested a youth for speaking offensively to girls over the phone and sending them obscene messages.
The accused has been identified as Yashwanth(25), a resident of Nagri in Sajipa Mooda. He is working of peeling arecanut.
It is said that he was in the habit of troubling girls over the phone. He is said to have picked up a SIM card lying on the road, which belonged to a girl, and started calling and sending vulgar messages from it. After that it became a habit. He even stole the number of a girl from the mobile phone of his cousin, and also numbers of girls from the phones of his friend’s relatives.
However, based on a recent complaint by a girl, he has now been arrested by town police sub inspector Kabbal Raj.
