Karkala; Nov 29: It was reported on Nov 22 that, the two students who were staying at Kinnigoli hostel have gone missing. Among them, one of the boys was traced in Chennai bound train and other boy is still missing. According to the sources the boys left the town, as they had been caught stealing soft drink bottles from a shop in Kinnigoli.

The missing boy has been identified as Antony Pinto, aged 15, a resident of Niddodi and his friend, who has been traced in Chennai bound train as Royston and brought back to Karkala.

Sources said that both were students of class 10 at a school in Mulky-Kinnigoli and were residing in Kelambettu St John Bosco church hostel in Bola.

On Nov 22, the two boys left for school in church bus at around 8.20 am. But when the bus reached the school, the boys instead of going to the class, went to Mangalore railway station and boarded the Chennai bound train. While Royston was found sleeping in the train, Antony was missing.

When railway police questioned Royston, he said that his friend Antony had gone missing.

When the Royston’s parents were informed by the railway police, Royston’s family visited Swarnoor junction railway station near Kallikote and brought Royston back.

Now it is suspected that Antony might have been either forcibly taken away by someone or has gone missing on his own.

A case has been registered in this regard in Karkala rural police station
