Thieves steal gold & ornaments worth Rs 31 lac from Mangalore businessman’s house at Perla

Kasargod, Nov 22: In an incident the thieves stolen gold worth Rs 31 lac from the house of a Mangalore businessman located near Nalka Juma Masjid, Perla here on Friday November 22.

The house belongs to K N Hameed, who hails from Mangalore.

It is said that the theft took place during the night, but the family came to know in the morning. Hameed, and the other family members were in the house while the thieves entered the house buut they unaware of it.

The house don’t have door in the top floor. So it is said that the thieves entered the house through the balcony. Then they took away the jewellery in the cupboard.They also took away the bike parked outside the home with the bike key that was kept on the table.

The stolen jewellery belonged to Hameed’s brothers who stay abroad. The gold ornaments stolen weighed 140 sovereigns worth around Rs 31.36 lac it is learnt.

Hameed, his mother, wife and servants are staying in the house. When Hameed’s mother got up at 3 am, she found the main door open and woke up Hameed. They immediately informed their relatives, locals and the Badiadka police.

The police team led by Thomson Jose, DySP P Mohanchandran Nayar and circle inspector Balakrishnan conducted inspection. Fingerprint experts and dog squad were also there in the investigation.
