Mangalore, April 6: Annoyed, Supporters of Ivan D’Souza-KPCC Secretary Organized a protest rally for denying a ticket to him in front of District Congress office on April 6, Saturday.
Michael Lobo-General Secretary of District Congress said in his address to the protestors that congress party had assured Ivan of ticket until recently but to our utter surprise abruptly announced the name of J R Lobo, who has joined the party three months ago.
He further said that Ivan D’Souza has been working sincerely for the past ten years but party has failed to recognize his efforts and announced the name of JR Lobo, which is amazing he said.
Ashraf,a former Mayor and congress leader, who was present said the appeal of Ivan supporters to the high command for the past 15 days has gone in to the dust bin. He further said we are not against any individual but against injustice meted out to Ivan D’souza.
When we asked senior leaders like Janardhan Poojari, Oscar Fernandez and Petroleum Minister M.Veerappa Moily, they started pointing fingers at each other and all these were political conspiracy to please J R Lobo, a new entrance to the party.
When there were so many Senior Congress members, why did the party chose JR Lobo as a candidate?, he questioned.
Congress leaders like Mithun Rai and Praveen Chandra Alva were present.
