Mangalore, Nov 9: The police on Saturday November 9 arrested two persons in connection with the attempt to murder case on two accused when they were returning from the court at Kodialbail here.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Azharuddin (31), a resident of Thotlaguri, Shirva, and Sudhir Devadiga (25), a resident of Admar in Kunjur, Uchila.
The sources said that police had obtained information that the accused would be returning by train from Goa. Accordingly, the police arrested them at the railway station early morning on Saturday Nov. 9.
They were later taken to Bunder police station.
A week ago Nazir and Latif were attacked by a gang of five while they were returning from the court on November 5, Tuesday. Nasir escaped with minor injuries and Latif had sustained serious injuries. Both were returning after the hearing in the case of attempt on the life of BJP leader Chandrashekhar Ucchil. Both are accused in the case that was reported in 2004.
