Udupi: Presence of mind of Govt driver & officials save two drowning children

Udupi; Oct 24:  When nobody is there in your distress time, God is always there to help you in different forms. How, why and when? It is a hidden secrete.

That what government driver and officials proved by saving two children from drowning on Oct 23, Wednesday with their timely act.

This is an incident occurred near Mattu in Katpady of Udupi taluk, wherein two children identified as Shreyas,aged 9 and his sister Shravya aged 11, children of Hebri resident Renuka,sister of Ramachandra Rao,a resident near Mattu Srivishunumurthy temple, fell into a nearby temple pond  while playing and started struggling for life. The timely presence of mind of government driver and officials, who were passing by, saved two children from the jaw of death.

According to the sources the government officials were passing by, on their way to the nearby Anganwadi centre at Mattu. Sadananda Nayak, a taluk child development project officer, Dr.Krishnamurthy, official, Moodabettu primary health centre and nurse Laxmi were in the car.

When they saw the children in the pond struggling for life, they stopped their car and rushed to rescue the children. Guruprasad, the driver jumped into the pond and saved the children from getting drowned and taken to private hospital in Udupi for providing first aid.

The children are out of danger. The presence of mid of the driver and officials has been commended and lauded by the people.
