Udupi; Oct 04: Addressing the media reporters in the foundation stone laying ceremony for Thottam-Malpe Balarama circle works on Oct 04, Friday, Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge said in his address that in order to give letter of ownership to the people, who have been residing in government lands since several years, we will bring new 19 C rule, Akrama-Sakrama will also be streamlined very soon and in form No.9 and 11, also the rule has been simplified, he said

Under the jurisdiction of Udupi city municipal council, 11nd phase work of city’s development, Rs 30 crore project work of Thottam-Malpe Balaram circle had been mentioned during previous government was in power. During the time of tendering process, the Vidhana Soudha Assembly elections came and after that no progress in the work.

He also said that we have already started inaugurating 48 crore projects, out of which 30 crore to Udupi and in Saligrama, Kundapur and Karkala also, we will commence the works, he added

Further, we have requested central government for another Rs 90 crore assistance. A total of Rs 170 crore will be utilized for drinking water, drainage and connecting roads etc have been started. We are planning to convert village panchayat to city municipal council also planning to make Udupi as the heritage town.

Also planning to implement J.N.R. rule and ten thousand buses will be distributed in the state and 2000 buses already arrived in the state. 49 buses arrived to our district, he added

While speaking, Pramod Madwarj MLA said in his speech that before commencing any works, projects in order to keep a watch about the quality of the works, cost of the project, contractors have been already informed to use flex boards. He also assured that within five years, we will try to get thousand crore grant both from central and state government. Now Rs 480 crore grants are pending, he said.
