Karkala; August 16: We have seen a number of instances of cattle transportation wherein animals are inhumanly bundled into vehicles that are cramped for space, wood transportation and household items transportation etc.
Here in one case, it was not cattles, wood or household items but NCC cadets, who were being transported in a goods tempo.It was on August 15, Thursday on the occasion of Independence Day, NCC cadets were bundled into a jam-packed goods tempo and transported to their institutes after celebrations at the ground.
The irony of the incident is, who had authorized the tempo to transport the NCC cadets, which is meant for transport of gas cylinders by a gas agency.
An eye witness to the incident said that there are buses in the schools and colleges in the area for transport of students, the administration could have availed an opportunity instead of hiring a tempo from the gas agency specially on the occasions like these.
