Educationist Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda no more

 Sullia, Aug 8: An expert educationist and founder president of Academy of Liberal Education, Dr Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda (78) Sullia, passed away due to illness, here on Wednesday August 7.

 He was suffering from ill health and took his last breath at his residence.

Dr KVG was a social reformer, a philosopher, a great preacher; an able administrator and a great philanthropist.  His contribution the field of education has been immense and his Academy of Liberal Education consists of primary education, technical, ayurveda, dental and medical colleges and over 7,000 students from all over the country study in the KVG educational institutes.

He established over 40 educational institutions in places like New Delhi, Bangalore, besides his birth place Sullia. Moreover he has provided employment to many people.

For the extra ordinary contribution to the field of education, he received many national and international awards such as Honorary Doctorate from USA, Rajiv Gandhi Ekta award, Glory of India award, Parisara ratna award, Vikas Jyoti award, Indira Gandhi Sadhbhavana award, Karnataka Sahitya Academy award, Udupi Manukula Bhushana award, International Gold star Millennium award, Mother Excellence award, American Medal of Honor, Nepal Friendship Award, Rastriya Ratan award, and various other awards have been conferred on him.
