Puttur, Jul 26: A boy pulls girl’s hair & that resulted in eruption of fight between two communal groups and injury to five students. This petty incident flared up within campus at Uppinangady Government First Grade College.
According the sources, three days ago, a boy pulled at a Muslim girl student Shahida’s hair, and later she revealed the issue with her brother and both complained to college principal . However the Principal refused to take action . Angered by the act, the brother questioned the boy who pulled his sister’s hair and an argument arose which soon snowballed into a clash between two groups. Fortunately college Principal Dr Subramanya K, who came to know about the incident informed Uppinangady police station.
Five students taken into custody
On arrival the Police took five students into custody and to condemn this action students gathered outside the station and started to shout. When the students intensified their protest, police resorted to lathy charge. Later, two communal groups head held discussion and solved the matter in the presence of circle inspector Suresh Kumar.
Regarding the case, Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Mustafa, Abdul Rehman, Zakaria and Jauhar were complainted against Mohith, Manohar, Subramanya, Kiran Kumar and Nithin Shetty and there were also given equal complaint against complainers.
