Udupi, July 2, 2013: In the Manipal gang rape case, the victim has ultimately come up with the statement though doctor and assured her support to the police official said IG Pradhap Reddy in a press meet at SP office.
In continuation of the investigation, 2 people were arrested in the morning; 1) Balachandra s/o Kanthappa Poojari from Ondhibettu village anjaru. He is bother of Yogesh and auto driver by profession. 2) Harindra(27) S/o Narayana Poojari from 80 badagubettu, is the brother of Hari Prasad was been arrested.
IG said that, for a week the interrogation was going on and after the confirmation that they have they played mischief with the evidence thay have been officially arrested in the morning. It was said that in the initial stage of investigation bothers of both the culprits tried their maximum to destroy the scientific evidence from the said auto- rickshaw.
He also said that the victim has come up with her statement through doctors and the single point contact was DYSP Kundapura, Yashodha shirboo, though the victim and her parents requested the officials to maintain their privacy.
FSL report are been aviated for final investigation.
Reddy added that, we will file charge sheet by tomorrow and it may be slow but accurate.
DNA test of the culprits will be done on fact track / priority bases.
