Mangaluru, July 11: Similar to the banks, the Indian Postal Department has also begun its ATM’s and the First Postal ATM in Dakshina Kannada District was opened at the head post office in Pandeshwar in the city.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the ATM, while S Gopal, retired officer of Department of Posts operated the machine by drawing cash.
S Rajendra Kumar- Post Master general of the Postal Department Southern Karnataka division, Jagadish Pai- Senior Superintendent of Mangaluru Postal Department, Mangalore City Corporation opposition leader Sudhir Shetty Kannur and others were present.
Customers, who have the savings account in the post offices that have Core banking facility, can avail Postal ATM facility.
