Byndoor, June 19: A massive protest was organized here even on Friday, June 19th by Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and NSUI after a first PU girl Akshata Devadiga (17) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Henberu in Ottinene on the late evening of Wednesday, June 17th.
The students boycotted their classes, went on a procession and assembled at the Gandhi Maidan here. They protested for an hour urging for unbiased probe into the death case. Later they moved to the tahshildar’s office and submitted a memorandum.
Later hundreds of students went on a procession on the National Highway and sieged the Byndoor Police station. They raised slogans there.
The students discussed on the death case with the station officer and requested that, a copy of the post-mortem report be handed over to them too.
In addition, they demanded the State government as well as the police that Akshata’s death case be seriously dealt and to immediately trace the culprit and book him under stringent law.
They urged for justice in Akshata’s death case else they warned of intense protest in future.
So far six suspects have been subjected under investigations.
