Mangalore, June 16: Canara Chamber of commerce and Industry has felicitated newly elected MLAs and ministers on June 15th, Saturday.
After receiving honours Ramanath Rai, forest, ecology and environment minister has said in his address that since the Netravati poject has been converted in to Yethinahole project by the erstwhile BJP government, it is already in tendering stage. Therefore in this regard congress government can do nothing, he said.
Mangalore-Hasan four lane Road work:
Ramanath Rai,minister for forest, ecology and environment further said that the process of Mangalore-Hasan between Mangalore-Hasan has already began and further formalities and works has been handed over to national Highway Authorities.
By linking Mulki-Kaikamba-B C Road to highway, traffic on the highway will be reduced and in this regard a new project will be implemented, he added.
The fund for the Netravati project has been granted when then chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda was in power, he informed.
Rai, further said nothing wrong in sanctioning the grant to the undeveloped districts on the basis of Nanjudappa report but it is wrong not to sanction the grant on the pretext of it has been already developed.
Development has been done in this region not because of the government aid but because of the people’s efforts, he said. Therefore he promised that he will try to get a more grants from the government.
Synthetic track in Moodbidri:
Rai, also said that Abhayachandra Jain, minister for youth welfare and fisheries has already handed over 35 acres of land to the sports authorities to build 400 metre synthetic track along with shuttle, volley ball, basketball courts at the cost of 2.5 crore.There will also be a plan for constructing swimming pool, he added.
The government also contemplating to construct fishing bunder at Kulai jointly by NMPT 90% and government 10% share.
MLAs JR Lobo,Mohiuddin Bava have been honored on the occasion and report of vision 20-20 Mangalore produced by organization has been released on the occasion and memorandum containing 23 points has been submitted to ministers on this occasion.
