Torrential rain plays havoc in the coastal region; Causes artificial deluge on the road; Traffic severely hit

Mangalore, June 10: Due to continuous rains which lashed out in the coastal region for the past five days, all the roads have been filled with rain water, which created heavy traffic jam everywhere in the city. It seems some parts of the city were looking like river due to rain water. In city, rain which started at 8.00 pm in the night has continued till Monday morning.

In has been reported that due to stagnant water of the rains on the road, smooth flow of the traffic has been affected badly in places like Rao&Rao circle, M G Road,Kankanady and some other places. In Bendorewel ward Vas-lane, it has been reported that one wall compound of private company has been collapsed near Kalpana road junction.

It has also been reported that due to continuous rain, a landslide occurred on court road, from P V S Junction, which connects to Kodialbail near kyberpass, as result of which court road is completely on the verge of danger. Repair work of the road has not been started. Pedestrians are facing problem in their movements due to heaps of soil accumulated on the road.

Besides, heavy rains have also been recorded across Dakshina Kannada district. In Puttur taluk too it has been reported heavy rains since yesterday evening and in Sullia heavy rain has been reported in the morning.

Suratkal also witnessed heavy rain coupled with thunder and lightning and in Kinnigoli moderate rain has been reported. In Mulky too heavy rain has been reported in the morning for quite some time and subsidized little later.

In Ullal heavy rain has been reported in the afternoon and in Belthangadi it has been reported that rain has started on Saturday night and continued till Sunday evening.
