Four software engineers were killed when the car in which they were travelling turned turtle after a tyre burst near Kyadigere in Chitradurga taluk on Saturday morning.
According to the police, the victims — Sarparaj, 27, Shrikant, 28, Sushrush, 26, and Yogesh, 27 — all from Sullia in Dakshina Kannada district, were working for Wipro in Bangalore.
The accident occurred when the front tyre of the car burst and the vehicle toppled after it rammed the road divider.
A speeding lorry hit the car, killing Sushrush, Shrikant and Sarparaj on the spot. Yogesh succumbed to his injuries at the Chitradurga district hospital.
They were headed to Sirsi to attend the wedding of a friend.
