Ancient Rahmania Dargah situated amidst river Nethravathi witness thousand of devotees during the Uroos.

Mangaluru, January 19: Located in an island amidst River Netravati, the Rahmania Dargah Masjid Shariff at Nadupalli in Adyar Kannur was crowded by thousands of devotees on Saturday January 17th, during the Uroos celebrations of this Dargah.

The unique fact witnessed during the visit to Dargah Shariff Uroos is that a temporary bridge was stationed to connect this 400 year old ancient Dargah by lining up boats one besides the other from the river bank to the devotees to walk to the Dargah.

Uroos held this year witnessed about 50,000 devotees. Usually devotees reach the Dargah by boats offer prayers before the tombs of the saints here.

Tombs of three saints, who provided spiritual guidance to the people, throughout their lives are located at this Rahmania Dargah. History of this place says, bodies of three persons, two brothers and a sister, had flown from west to east to this spot. The bodies had possessed some divine powers. The people had arranged to bury them and build their tombs on the right side of the mosque. Since then, people from different religions pay a visit to the Dargah over centuries and seek blessings of the divine powers and find solution to their problems and fulfil their wishes.

Rahmania Dargah is renowned for granting the wishes of farmers. There are many instances in which farmers, troubled by lack of rain, came here, made gruel mixed with jaggery as is customary, distributed it among the needy, and prayed for rain. On their way back, they witnessed heavy showers. Yearly, Uroos and other rituals are organized in celebration of these divine powers.

Two wells with sweet water in the area is one more significant feature of this Dargah, the water is used by the locals here.
