Mangalore, May 25: It has been reported in the city that on May 24, Friday auto rickshaw drivers staged a protest by blocking the road near central railway station alleging that traffic police personnel damaged an auto rickshaw.
The drivers sought action against the traffic police who damaged the front portion of the auto rickshaw.
Drivers alleged that traffic police abused the driver. The traffic was paralyzed for over forty five minutes.
Mangalore south police inspector CN Divakar rushed to the spot and assured justice to the auto rickshaw driver.
Auto rickshaw drivers association president and Karnataka Pradesh congress committee secretary Ivan D’souza said that auto rickshaw should be rectified within three days.
