The Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Monday gave a clarion call asking people to rid Jammu Kashmir of two families — Abdullahs and Muftis, apart from Congress if wanted all round development of the state.

“Time has come to have a nationalist government in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, adding that coming assembly elections in the state cannot be seen as a localised affair as boundaries of two countries touch it.

Addressing a mammoth gathering at Ramlila ground here this afternoon, he held both the Abdullah and Mufti dynasties responsible for present plight of the people of the state.
“Whenever anybody from these families came to power, he preferred his family interest over welfare of the people,” said Shah. While both Omar Abdullah and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed keep on swapping place in power, the condition of people remained unchanged, he added.

Amit Shah also launched a direct attack on Omar Abdullah for his repeated taunts of Narendra Modi government’s achhe din, saying that he should try to fulfill his responsibility.
Shah said while the BJP government at Centre and security forces along the border will keep giving a befitting reply to Pakistan for any unprovoked firing, Omar should take his responsibility seriously even though days of his government are numbered.

“Did you or anybody from your government visit the people uprooted from borders in the wake of Pakistani shelling on international border? Do you have no responsibility towards them, or do you think that they are not residents of the state?” Shah said.
