Hyderabad: Security has been beefed up at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, ahead of the Independence Day. The Intelligence Bureau has alerted all the airports in the country to step up the security. Airport authorities say, it’s an usual alert ahead of the occasion.
“Extra security measures have been taken at the airport. Thorough checking of vehicles and persons is also being done. Security forces have also been deployed and continuous checking is on,” said an airport official.
Bomb and dog squads were also pressed into action.
Officials also said that issuing visitor passes will also be stopped for a couple of days.
