ABP News exit poll predicts win for Modi, Rahul; Jaitley, Mulayam face tough fight

NEW DELHI: BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi are likely to win from Varanasi and Amethi seats respectively, according to an exit poll by ABP news channel released on Tuesday.

In Varanasi, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal will come second while Congress candidate Ajay Rai will be relegated to the third position, the poll predicts.

Despite a very spirited campaign, AAP’s Kumar Vishwas will only manage third position in Amethi while BJP’s Smriti Irani is predicted to come second.

SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav faces a stiff challenge in Azamgarh and may end up losing.

Similarly BJP leader Arun Jaitley, Lalu’s daughter Misa Bharti and his wife Rabri Devi also face the risk of defeat, the poll predicts.

RLD chief Ajit Singh, Nandan Nilekani, Medha Patkar are predicted to lose from their respective seats.

BJP chief Rajnath Singh, who contested from Lucknow, and senior party leader MM Joshi are likely to win from their respective seats.

BJP’s chief ministerial candidate in Delhi Harsh Vardhan is set to win the Chandni Chowk seat. AAP’s Ashutosh and Congress candidate Kapil Sibal will manage the second and third position in this hotly contested seat.
