New Delhi, December 9:  Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi, who arrived in the Capital on Sunday, choose to air his views on the party’s performance in the Assembly elections on Twitter.

While party workers went all out to celebrate outside the BJP headquarters and rolled out the red carpet for the Gujarat Chief Minister, who is credited for contributing significantly to the party’s performance, Mr. Modi himself restricted his reactions to 140-characters word limit.

Starting with congratulatory messages to Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Mr. Modi tweeted: Called Shivraj ji to congratulate him for BJP’s wonderful performance in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections!” He then congratulated party chief Rajnath Singh for a “spectacular” victory across the States.

Even as party leaders attributed the BJP’s performance to Mr. Modi’s popularity and said the results were an indication of the support that the prime ministerial candidate has garnered, Mr. Modi did credited “team” work for the winning streak and thanked the people for reposing faith in the BJP. “Congrats to @ChouhanShivraj @VasundharaBJP @drramansingh & @drharshvardhan & their teams for efforts that ensured BJP’s great performance,” he tweeted.

Taking a dig at the Congress who have been unsparing their criticism of him, Mr. Modi said: “The total number of seats Congress has won in all the four states today cannot even match the seats @BJP4India won in 1 state!”.
