Srinagar: A British woman holidaying on a houseboat on Dal Lake in Srinagar has been found dead this morning, allegedly murdered by a Dutch tourist who was staying in a separate room in the houseboat, according to police sources.
The suspect was arrested near Banihal tunnel, 100 km from Srinagar, this morning.
Police suspect that Sara Elizabeth, 24, might have been raped before being killed. According to sources, she had been staying on the houseboat for the past two months and the suspect arrived two days ago.
A case of murder has been registered and a team of forensic experts has been roped in to help the police in their investigations.
