New Delhi, July 31;Petrol price has been hiked by 70 paise/litre, diesel by 50 paise from midnight tonight. Following are the revised prices of petrol and diesel in four metros after oil firms hiked rates.
In Delhi the petrol price which was Rs. 70.44 would hereafter be Rs. 71.28, whereas the price in Chennai has increased from Rs. 73.60 to Rs. 74.49 and the price of petrol in Mumbai has risen to Rs. 78.61 from Rs. 77.73. Citizens of Kolkata would be shelling out more at Rs. 78.64, a rise of 88 paise.
The revised price of diesel in Delhi would be Rs. 51.40 against the old rate of Rs. 50.84. Similarly the price of diesel in Chennai is Rs. 54.76, Kolkata Rs. 55.74, and Mumbai Rs. 58.23.
