KARIMNAGAR: In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old drunken man on Monday night sacrificed his son by beheading him at Sirpur village of Mallapur mandal in Karimnagar district. The man, Odala Ravi, told villagers that the village deity (Grama Devatha) had commanded him in dream to sacrifice his four-year-old son Sai Kumar.
Ravi cut off Sai Kumar’s head and chopped off his legs before throwing the body in the village well.
After committing the crime, Ravi reportedly did not show any remorse and, in fact, was content that he had “fulfilled the wish of the village deity”. The villagers informed the Metpalli police, who fished out the body, and sent it for post-mortem at the Metpalli Government Hospital. The incident sent shock waves in Metpally Assembly constituency under which Sirpur village falls.
The police registered a case against Ravi.
