Teacher beats boy with stick, chair in school

The boy said he had a headache and was sitting quietly on his chair when the teacher beat him.

The Ajman Police are investigating an incident in which a boy was allegedly beaten by a teacher with a stick and a chair in a private school in the emirate last week.

Brigadier Ali Abdullah Alwan, Commander-in-Chief of the Ajman Police, said a complaint had been filed by the boy’s parents at Al Humaidiya Police Station about a teacher beating their son with a stick. He said the police are finalising their investigations to hand over the case to prosecutors.

According to the child’s father, Mohammed Abdul Halim, on the day of incident, he noticed that his son was looking tired and he asked him about the reason. The boy said he had a headache and was sitting quietly on his chair when the teacher beat him. The boy said the teacher continued beating him even as he asked the teacher what wrong he had done. The boy said he fell down and broke his glasses after which the teacher hit him with a chair.

The boy was taken to Shaikh Khalifa Hospital for treatment.
