President awards Indian ambassador Mr.M K Lokesh ‘Order of Independence’

Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who received the Indian ambassador on Monday at his office at the ministry, decorated him with the Order.

The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has awarded the outgoing Indian Ambassador M K Lokesh the ‘Order of Independence’ of First Degree in appreciation of his generous contributions to the boosting of relations of friendship and cooperation between the UAE and India in various areas.

Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who received the Indian ambassador on Monday at his office at the ministry, decorated him with the Order. Shaikh Abdullah congratulated the ambassador and wished him success in his future assignment.

The outgoing Indian ambassador expressed profound gratitude to the UAE President for the great honour. He praised Shaikh Khalifa for his wise policy and for the significant role he plays at the regional and international levels.

He also thanked UAE officials, in general and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in particular, for the cooperation he received during his tenure, which, he said, had contributed immensely in the successful discharge of his mission.
