Kuwaiti News Agency reported that the court also decided to halt cross-examination into the appeal filed by the public prosecution against the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth defendants, pending conclusion of the appeal process duration.

The Court of Appeal’s criminal circuit in Kuwait on Sunday upheld a tentative death sentence against Abdulrahman Sabah Eidan, the prime suspect in the bombing of the Al Imam Al Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait City that killed 26 and injured a further 227 in January.

Kuwaiti News Agency, KUNA, reported that the court also decided to halt cross-examination into the appeal filed by the public prosecution against the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth defendants, pending conclusion of the appeal process duration.

The court repealed a tentative death sentence against the ninth defendant, Fahad Muhareb, acquitting him of the charges that warrant the death penalty, and as a result, he was given a 15-year prison sentence, to be followed with expulsion from the country, according to KUNA.
