Mumbai: When it comes down to filmmaking, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali takes his job very seriously. The director has upped the security on the sets of one of his biggest films yet, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, to keep crucial information under wraps.
According to a report in Absolute India, the director hasn’t even allowed any of the cast’s family members to be present on set. Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu was reportedly not allowed to enter the main set.
A source was quoted as saying, “Bhansali is extremely serious about keeping his film and the character’s look under wraps which is why he doesn’t entertain relatives and friends of any of the actors. It was surprising when Priyanka’s mother who had come to meet her was not allowed on the sets. Madhu Chopra was asked to wait in her daughter’s vanity van which was parked outside the sets.”
Bhansali’s efforts were in vain, when a few pictures of Priyanka’s look from the film were leaked online. Even Priyanka Chopra herself gave fans a sneak peek of her costume, when she shared a picture from the sets.
The report also stated that Priyanka was a complete sport about the situation, and accepted the director’s decision. Cast and crew members aren’t even allowed to carry their smartphones when on set.
A number of filmmakers have taken such extreme measures to keep the film’s plot and character’s looks under wraps.
