BANGALORE: Karnataka Tourism was awarded with the ‘Best Tourism Promotional Publicity Material’ in the National Tourism Awards for 2011-2012. The function was conducted by the ministry of tourism and was held on March 18, 2013 in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Bagging the award this year makes it the fourth time in five years when Karnataka Tourism has received this honour.
President Pranab Mukherjee, who was also the chief guest for the evening, gave away the prestigious award. additional chief secretary (Tourism), Arvind Jadhav, received the award on behalf of Karnataka Tourism. “It is a great achievement for us and has encouraged us further to continue to exceed expectations by coming up with more innovative promotional strategies,” said Jadhav.
“Given our success in important events like the Surajkund Mela and ITB Berlin, this is a well-deserved win. The promotional materials in both events impressed many visitors. We still stand proud as a state with an undeniably vibrant culture, and our excellent tourism campaigns have put us in the recommendations of the leading tour operators,” he said.
