The England and Wales Cricket Board(ECB), on Monday, announced the itinerary for India’s tour of England in 2014. The tour is comprised of five Tests, a five match ODI series and a T20 international.

For the first time since 1959, India will be playing a five-match Test series in England. The ECB announced Trent Bridge, Lord’s, the Rose Bowl in Hampshire, Old Trafforda and The Oval to be the five venues for the Test series.

Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Middle sex will host tour matches against India, who last toured England in 2011 when they were defeated four-nil in the Test Series and three-nil in the NatWest Series with the NatWest International T20 series drawn 1-1.

The ECB chief David Collier said, “This will be the first time England has hosted India in a five-Test series in more than 50 years and the length of the series reflects the iconic status which contests between these two great cricketing nations now enjoy.”

He also revealed that ECB is anticipating a huge demand for tickets both for the Test and the One-Day International series. The ODI series will be the first encounter between the two teams in the 50-over format since Team India’s triumph in the 2013 Champions Trophy final earlier this year.
