Kolkata: The former BCCI chief N Srinivasan’s forced presence in the Working Committee meeting to be held here on Friday has led to murmurs among the board members.
The ICC chairman flew to be a part of the proceedings as a representative of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
The Working Committee will be discussing the future of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals – the IPL teams facing a two-year ban for notorious activites of their owners, Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra.
It was proved that Meiyappan and Kundra were involved in betting during the 2013 edition of the cash-rich tournament.
According to reports, Srinivasan was bold enough not to budge from his position. He wanted to remain president of TNCA and hence, felt it is his right to attend the meeting. But BCCI is not keen in having the tainted chief around. The meeting is scheduled to start from 4 pm.
