Cricket lovers know Sachin Tendulkar as “God Of Cricket”. We all believe that god saves followers when they are in difficulty. In this case the god of Cricket helped an Indian Cricket Fan and saved his 65000 rupees.
The man seen in the picture above is a famous Indian Cricket fan Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary aka Sudhir Gautam. He is seen at every match that India plays in Asia.
This time round, for the first time Sudhir decided that he will reach New Zealand to cheer Indian team in the 2015 Cricket World Cup. However, reaching Auckland International Airport created difficulties for Sudhir.
There exists very strict laws in New Zealand for cleanliness. Sudhir paints his body in Indian tricolor while he cheers for India. He always carries paint with him. Carrying paint in liquid form is illegal in New Zealand.
When the officers at the airport found Sudhir carrying paint. They told him that this is illegal and he will have to pay a fine of 1400 New Zealand dollars which amount to approximately 65000 Indian Rupees as of March 2015.
Sudhir told the officers that he is an Indian supporter and always carries paint with him. He also told that he was not aware of this rule. After the explanation, the officers said that they understand that he has done this lacking the knowledge of this rule but a rule is to be followed.
Sudhir told the officers that he does not have this money and requested them to let him go. However, the officers were adamant on observing the rule. After lot of convincing Sudhir did something that solved the problem for him. Sudhir showed the officers a letter that Sachin Tendulkar has written for him. Sachin had written to the embassy for granting of Visa. After this the officer let Sudhir go without the fine.
Many Indian Cricket fans remember the 2002 incidence when cricketer Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh were fined in New Zealand for carrying dirty shoes.
Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary who is also known as Sudhir Gautam is a very common man from Muzaffarpur, Bihar. He is unemployed and collected money from people to reach every match that Indian played and support the team from 2003 to 2009. Since 2009, the Board For Control of Cricket in India has sponsored Sudhir for every match. Sudhir is known to every Indian Cricket player and followers. Sachin has also publicly referred him as his biggest fan.
