The 121-kilometre race on Thursday will force the closure of Oud Mehta road, Meydan Road, Dubai-Al Ain road, Emirates Road, Al Sufouh road and Hessa Street.
As many as 30 schools in Dubai will remain closed on Thursday as the city braces for its first ever professional cycling race. Traffic will be restricted in key areas of Dubai and parents have been advised to check with schools to know about closures or change in class timings.
On Tuesday, Dubai Police announced traffic diversions from February 5 to 8 as it called on schools to remain closed. Later, Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) issued a communication to schools, allowing them to remain closed, if needed.

Some schools will continue classes on Thursday but timings are expected to be reduced or modified to ensure students reach on time.
