Mangaluru, May 19: In a major operation, the city traffic police on Tuesday, May 19th stopped the buses plying from the city and removed the high decibel horns which were used in them.
Under the guidance of DCP Vishnuvardhan, led by ACP traffic Uday Nayak , team of traffic police conducted this operation in the city.
The traffic police confiscated the horns which were producing sound more than 65 decibels; there by violating the traffic rules.
Horns were confiscated from as many as 150 buses and they were fined for violating the rules.
Following complaints from the general public about the nuisance of horns, traffic police conducted this operation early in the morning at bus stands.
