In a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA Government, Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati on Saturday said communal tension was palpable in the country since the present regime came to power at the Centre. Ms. Mayawati alleged that BJP workers, like their counterparts in Samajwadi Party, were creating law and order problems in the State and vitiating the communal atmosphere.
Without naming him, she criticised RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat’s statement on “Hindutva”. Addressing a Press conference at the BSP headquarters on Saturday, Ms Mayawati said the RSS has emerged as a “non-constitutional” organisation with no accountability.
Accusing the BJP and the SP of being hand-in-glove, Ms. Mayawati said these parties were responsible for the anarchy, communal violence, communal tension and rise in crime in the State.
