Mangalore, July 10: The entrepreneurs and residents of Bendoor-Balmatta-Kankanadi have appealed to the DC to immediately set right the new one way traffic system introduced by Mangalore traffic police which is causing great trouble to the school students, hospitals, patients, residents, offices, entrepreneurs etc living in the area.
There were many accidents experienced in this road after the changes implemented. There is no proper facility of footpath for pedestrians to walk, it was complained.
The government’s ‘Save fuel’ campaign is completely contradictory to this new one way system. The vehicles that would have taken a 100 meter stretch are now taking 1-2 km stretch to reach their destination.
Passengers travelling in auto rickshaw end up paying extra fare, buses travelling to Bangalore and other far away cities are unaware of the new system and thus drive according to the old one, this will cause more trouble.
Considering all the above facts, the people of the area have pleaded the district administration to set right the things immediately.
