Mangalore, Dec. 6: A group of cattle smugglers who were transporting cattle in a pickup vehicle were arrested at Falnir on early morning of Friday Dec.6.
The Pandeshwar police has discovered the cattle smuggling and arrested the illegal cattle transporting group at Falnir.
In a swift of action the police seized eight cows which were being unlawfully transported.
According to the reports the cattle were being smuggled from BC Road to a slaughter house in the city. The police found six cows and two calves that were stolen from various places in Bantwal.
Police sources confirmed that the Bolero vehicle with the registration No. KA 19D7593 was proceeding at great speed and that someone who noticed this passed on the information to the Pandeshwar Police station.
