Mangalore, September 12: On September 11th around 7 a.m , a nursing student of a college form the city was walking towards Moodushedde from her residence in Kudru near Adyapady. It is gathered that she had forgotten to bring her hall ticket for the examination scheduled on the same day. When she was going back to her home hurriedly to fetch the hall ticket, two men way laid her in a remote area. They forcibly took away a gold chain around her neck, cell phone and cash from her purse. It is yet to be known whether the girl was raped.
None witnessed the incident, as it was an isolated area. The student was tied to a tree after she was drugged and unconscious till evening. A person, passing that way at around 7 pm, heard the cry of the girl and was rescued later.
Information was given to the locals and Kavoor police. A police team lead by Kavoor sub-inspector came to the spot, enquired and took the girl to the police station.
In her preliminary statement the victim has revealed that the muggers had sprayed some substance on her face and she fell unconscious. Later she was tied to the tree with her scarf. She recalled a prominent mole in the hand of one of the men.
Based on the available details the Cops are hunting the muggers.
