The 34-yr-old killed his wife by stabbing her in her private parts several times; he then locked the door, wrote the message on the wall and fled the house

Cops at the Central police station in Ulhasnagar, where the case is registered, are now trying to identify who the next victim could be. According to police officers, Dnyanchand Narayan Meghrajani (34), stabbed his 30-year-old wife, Kavita, several times in her private parts and killed her.

Their five-year-old daughter was asleep at that time. When she got up in the morning yesterday, she saw her mother lying in a pool of blood and found the door locked. The child then called her grandmother to inform her of the incident. The police, along with the girl’s uncle, Kishore Megnani, broke down the door and saw the dead body.

They also discovered that the man had written a message on the wall: “Agar main bach gaya toh ab doosre ki baari (If I’m alive, I’ll kill the second one)”. The body was sent for a post-mortem at Ulhasnagar Central Hospital. The family resides at Pavan Dham Apartments, in Camp Number 3, Ulhasnagar and Meghrajani owned a local travel agency named Yatri, which was making losses.

“Neighbours told us the couple had been fighting a lot in the past few days. We suspect that the wife might have been having an affair and the husband, who is absconding, wants to kill her boyfriend,” said the officer.

PSI Dinesh Patil of Central police station told mid-day, “We are investigating all possible angles in the case. The accused was in debt and we also suspect the wife was having an affair.”

Decoding the message
Cops are trying to find out who the ‘doosra’ could be, by searching for the deceased’s friends, in order to prevent another murder. The husband is still at large.
