Bijapur: Akshata, the four-year-old girl trapped inside a borewell in a farm of Nagathan village in Bijapur taluk, has died.
The death was confirmed after a 50-hour operation to get her out ended on Thursday. The rescue team had to encounter a lot of difficulties to reach the borewell through a tunnel drilled using a manual driller.
A team of doctors examined the child after she was taken out through the tunnel and declared her dead.
