Ms Preethi LN from Mangalore gets a Gold Medal in NLSIU

Mangalore, August 1: Ms Preethi L N from Mangalore has been conferred with Gold Medal at the 22nd Convocation of the prestigious National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bangalore today in the University campus.
Mr Rajendra Mal Lodha, Hon’ble Chief Justice of India and Chancellor of NLSIU presided over the Convocation and felicitated the B.A.LL.B (Hons.) Degree and Bharath Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar Gold Medal to Ms Preethi LN in the presence of Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Law & Justice and Communications & Information Technology,Govt of India, a good number of Judges of Supreme Court of India,Chief Justice and other judges of Karnataka High Court, Mr RV Deshpande, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, Mr T B Jayachandra, Minister for Law and Justice(both), Govt of Karnataka, President of Bar Council of India, Prof Ravivarma Kumar, Advocate General, Govt of Karnataka  and others.

Ms Preethi LN is the daughter of Mr Lolaksha, a well known social activist, former journalist, thinker and a recipient of prestigious Dr BR Ambedkar State Award for social service and Mrs Nagaveni, an
employee of Mangalore University.

Ms Preethi LN was a student of Vishwa Mangala Primary and High School, Konaje, Mangalore and had secured 92.48% in SSLC board exam. Later she joined St. Aloysius Pre-University College, Mangalore and secured 86.33% in Pre-University Board Exam.

Ms Preethi LN has been a meritorious student from her child hood and won hundreds of certificates and medals for her excellence in academic and extracurricular activities and in various competitions. She has passed with distinction Junior and senior exams in Bharatha Natyam and
Karnatic Music.

Ms Preethi LN has interned under Mr Justice J Chalameshwar, Hon’ble Judge of the Supreme Court of India; Interned at National Commission for Scheduled Castes, New Delhi, under Prof Ravivarma Kumar, Advocate General, Govt of Karnataka, under Dr CS Dwarakanath, former Chairman,
Backward Classes Commission, Govt of Karnataka and in many NGOs. She has presented a Paper on ‘Social exclusion in Premier Educational Institutes in India’ in a national seminar held at Tata Institute of Social Sciences at Mumbai, in which she has exposed the various forms of practice of untouchability being practiced in premier educational institutes and suggested remedial measures.

She wants to become a voice of voiceless millions and planning to go abroad for higher studies in Human Rights.
