Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Institution Celebrates the 68th Independence Day

Mangalore, August 16: The 68th Independence Day was celebrated with great honour and pride at Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Institution on  August15th, Friday. Charted accountant, industrialist as well as an ex-student of the college Mr Nanda Gopal shenoy hoisted the National Flag.

Addressing the gathering he said, “Our elders rendered their selfless sacrifice to our country. They were querying what they should give to their nation”. But now everyone is sacrificing his country for his selfishness. Students are the future citizens of our country who build our nation; they should know their responsibility and strive towards it. Our independence would be meaningful when each one contributes to the society and our country as well. He wished that all would strive towards it.

The program began with a prayer by the student’s. Dr Gangadhar the Principal of Degree College welcomed the guests and introduced them to the audience. Chairman of Students Association Chandranatha Shetty honoured the guests with garlands.

The Chairmanship of the program was taken by Shri B Devdas, the president of Shree Venkatesha Shiva Bhakthi Yoga Sanga. Well wishes were given by the college convener Shri S Jaya Vikram. Management committee of the college Shri Vassntha Karandur, Dr B G Suvarna, Shri Jagannath,PU College Principal Smt Kshma N Rao were  present on the stage. Vice secretary of PU student’s association, Kum Deekshitha gave the vote of thanks. Student Kum Poojitha organized the program.

It was followed by various awesome cultural programs by the students of PU, degree, BEd and MCom together on saluting the country. Student Kum Vidhya K hosted this program.
