Mangalore: The heavy rainfall has led to various disasters in Dakshina Kannada. On account of this, a tree was uprooted at Nandigudde. The tree fell on the road causing disturbance to the traffic.
The fire service personnel arrived at the spot and cleared the tree and made way for the traffic. The electricity supply was disrupted for a while but was fixed later.
The monsoon has taken its toll across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi region. The southwest monsoon has so far covered the undivided districts with heavy rains, leading to a dip in temperature.
The rain started pouring on Friday night and has continued for the past two days. The heavy rain fall over Dakshina Kannada since Saturday night has left at least 10 houses damaged and numerous other trees uprooted in various areas. The MET department has predicted more thunder-showers.
