Mangalore, Jul 9: A woman appointed to operate Any Time Payment (ATP) machine installed at Mescom division office at Attavar has fleed with Rs 2.60 lakh cash that was in the machine.
This is for the second time the theft of ATP machine has taken place in the city. It was in December 2012, the machine with Rs 3.29 lakh cash paid as electricity bill by the customers, was stolen. A man and a woman were arrested in the case.
She was working for Smart Detectives and Allied Services (India) Private Limited, an agency that operates all ATP machines for Mescom in the State.
The culprit is yet to be traced. Police are conducting further investigation.
