Mangalore, Jun 23: Mohammed Kunhi has been appointed the president of JD(S) Dakshina Kannada district committee, following the resignation of M B Sadashiva three days ago.
Sadashiva had resigned from the post district president citing personal reasons. He continues to be a member of JD(S).
Kunhi was until now the working president of JD(S) district committee.
Mohammed Kunhi was appointed by JD(S) national president Deve Gowda. As per Deve Gowda’s order, former MLA and party’s caretaker president M S Narayana Rao has issued a written order of appointment.
B Mohammed Kunhi has previously served as the chief secretary of Karnataka JD(S). He was also a member of state Wakf Council and JD(S) DK district working president. He is presently a member of Karnataka parliamentary board.
