Mangalore : Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department has been functioning at A.J. Hospital & Research Centre, Mangalore for the last several years now. Many successful microvascular and cosmetic surgeries have been conducted since then.
Cleft Lip and Palate is a birth deformity, which occurs one in 700 live births and there are 14 lakh children suffering with this deformity in India. If neglected, this defect not only causes disfigurement of the face but also affects speech, hearing and teething thus crippling the overall physical, psychological and social development of the affected child. This can be successfully treated by Plastic Surgery done at an early age. This Free treatment for cleft lip and palate is open to all children and adults with such deformity. Previously treated patients who desire further improvement with plastic surgery can also attend this camp.
A FREE CLEFT LIP & PALATE camp is organized at A.J. HOSPITAL & RESEARCH CENTRE, Mangalore from 23rd June 2014 to 28th June 2014 in the Outpatient Department. Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeons team will be available during the camp for consultation and advice.
