Mangalore, May 30: A person was arrested by the Mobile Forest Squad police personnel for smuggling deer hide in a scooter at Heroor in Brahmavar of Udupi district on Wednesday May 28. It is said that another accused however escaped from the scene.
Kiran Luis (30) is the arrested man. The Forest Squad Sub-Inspector Shekhar who was on patrolling in the area, stopped the scooter on suspicion when deer hide was found.
A case has been registered under Wildlife Protection Act in Brahmavar police station. The arrested man has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
Kiran Dayas, other accused who escaped is being searched by Brahmavar police.
